- Claim and verify your listing

- Add high-quality photos (exterior, interior, products)
- Choose the most accurate primary category (and relevant secondary categories)
- Keep business hours and special hours up to date
- Use Q&A to address common questions on your profile
- Add products or services if applicable
Reviews & replies
- Monitor new Google reviews in one inbox (BizProfile Manager)
- Respond to all reviews within 24–48 hours where possible
- Use reply templates to keep tone and messaging consistent
- Use AI draft replies (BizProfile Manager) to save time while staying on-brand
- Set up notification emails so you never miss a new review (BizProfile Manager)
- For Pro: configure auto-reply rules for positive reviews (e.g. 4–5 stars)
Location data & consistency (NAP)
- Use identical business name, address, and phone (NAP) on your Google Business Profile
- Match NAP on your website (contact page and footer) with your Google listing
- Choose one consistent address format (e.g. “123 Main St” vs “123 Main Street”)
- Periodically audit other key directories (e.g. Yelp, Facebook, Apple Maps) for NAP consistency (even if managed manually today)
- Avoid creating duplicate Google listings for the same location
Insights & improvement
- Review Google Business Profile insights regularly (views, searches, actions)
- Identify top-performing locations and those that need attention (BizProfile Manager projects/insights)
- Track how often you reply to reviews and reduce your response time over time
- Use GBP keyword metrics (BizProfile Manager, where available) to understand how people find you
- Export insights (Growth/Pro) to share performance with stakeholders
Team & process
- Designate an owner for Google Business Profile and review management
- Create clear guidelines for how your team should reply to different types of reviews
- Group locations into projects (BizProfile Manager) for easier reporting and sharing
- On Pro: set up team roles (Owner / Manager / Viewer) so the right people have the right access
- Schedule regular reviews of performance (e.g. monthly or quarterly) using dashboards or scheduled reports
